THE DISCIPLE

If you are a servant of the most high God in heaven,
You are then equal to the original Eleven.
At the first there were twelve. but one was evil all his days,
And sought to destroy Jesus instead of giving him Praise.

Like a comparison of being either dirty or clean,
The Bible doesn't say  anything about being in between.
The Eleven were skeptical till Jesus gave evidence
That living for Jesus didn't take  much intelligence.

It took faith in Jesus the Righteous Son of Man,
But also The Son of God by his own  Eternal plan.
Judas didn't follow  the righteous Lord of Love,
His greed and love of money was what he was thinking of.

In spite of all the miracles that Jesus did and said,
He allowed the love of money to rule his heart and head,
And the mask of being a disciple hid the evil in his heart,
For Judas then did something He thought was pretty smart.

He betrayed the Son of God for thirty silver coins,
Showing he's as wicked as the evil plot he Joins.
And when they took Jesus and treated him too rough,
And knowing then that what He had done was just enough

To  crown his guilt when the thought first began
And He connived to betray the son of man.
And now, along with Guilt He was so overcome
That He had done something both wicked and dumb.

He said: "I want to right an evil wrong if I can,
For I have betrayed the life of an innocent man"
And the chief Priests answered: "we don't care,
Whatever you do now is your own affair".

Throwing down the Silver, He went out the door,
Knowing He could not be Christ's servant any more.
Now if at any time, Christ's servant you would be,
Give your entire life to Jesus and do it willingly.

Be prepared to follow Jesus every single day
And for every obstacle He will make a way
To go around or over it, and sometimes, too,
He might even help you go right straight through.

If you're pushed into a corner and there's just no way out
You belong to Jesus and there's just no room for doubt.
The problem may continue and it may even get worse
But you are a servant of the Master of the Universe.

He has not forgotten you, but knows right where  you are
And he will be ready if Satan goes too far
And may just be waiting to make you a way
When you've learned to be thankful, and praise, and pray.

Like The Wind

The Days Go,
The years pass;
All the occasions
Are gons so fast;

You remember the good times,
With Mom and Dad,
Now those are gone,And your
own family, youve already had,

Then you remember the snow,
Drifting down in beautiful flakes,
The taste of the hot cocoa
That Grandma would make;

The Sundays at church,
And afterward was dinner;
You knew that all were equal,
And we all were sinners;

You remember the good and bad;
The smile on your face, and the heart you had to mend
All these are just memories now,
That have flew by like the wind!

Love Held His Hand

Love stood by Jesus gently holding onto His hand
Patiently they waited for judgement to be handed down
Love stood by watching as they made the crown of thorns
They placed it on His head intended as shame to adorn

They beat Him with many stripes so we might be healed
It was by these things that Love would be revealed
With Love by His side, He walked up Calvary's  Hill
Weak and beaten He made His way, for it was God's will

Seeing that the weight of the cross was more than He could stand
Love reached out taking Mercy firmly by the hand
Asking Mercy to please find another to carry it in His stead
As they followed the path of blood that Christ Jesus had shed

Love and Mercy waited silently as they nailed Him to the tree
They stood and watched as He laid down His life for you and me
As the cross was raised, Love stood with her shoulders under His feet
As He bore our judgement, Love bore His weight

A crystal clear river of living waters flowed out from the cross
As God's love flowed out to the nations so none should be lost
The nations would bathe in the waters receiving cleansing for themselves
Praising the Living God for life, for with Him is where Love dwells

When our Lord cried out, Father forgive them,
for they know not what they do
Love joined hands with Faith and Hope,
As our Lord was dying for me and you
Waiting her time when the world would recognize the need for a Savior
Grace was there too, waiting patiently to provide God's unmerited favor

ALWAYS THERE

Hello God, I called tonight
To talk a little while..
I need a friend who'll listen
To my anxiety and trial...

You see, I can't quite make it
Through a day just on my own...
I need your love to guide me,
So I'll never feel alone.

I want to ask you please to keep,
My family safe and sound.
Come and fill their lives with confidence
For whatever fate they're bound.

Give me faith, dear God, to face
Each hour throughout the day,
And not to worry over things
I can't change in any way.

I thank you God, for being home
And listening to my call,
For giving me such good advice
When I stumble and fall.

Your number, God, is the only one
That answers every time.
I never get a busy signal,
Never had to pay a dime.

So thank you, God, for listening
To my troubles and my sorrow.
Good night, God, I love You, too,
And I'll call again tomorrow!

Life

Life. What can I say about my life?
Well my life used to be all about me;
Now it's all for Christ.

Life. What can I say about my life?
Well my life went so slowly before;
Now it flies by because of joy.

Life. What would God say about me?
Well He would say,"I love you"
And I would answer,"I love you, too."

Life. What would God say about me?
Well He would say,"You do your best."
And I would say,"I do it all for you."

NOTHING ELSE TO DO

Are you really born again, is Jesus your Precious Lord?
Or does talking about Jesus and His love make you bored?
Do you witness to others what Jesus brought you through,
Or do you only witness when you've nothing else to do?

You surely know by now the Gift that God has given
Do you utilize that gift when you are conscience driven?
Demonstrating that through Jesus, your gift really Grew,
Or do you exhibit your gift when you've nothing else to do?

Do you have a talent that leaves people in Awe,
And a well of information from which God can draw
To encourage and energize a Christian who is new
Or do you only use it when you've nothing else to do?

Do you have a loved one whom you have long adored
Who has not yet believed and accepted our Lord?
And you can tell the story, How Jesus died for you,
Or will you wait and tell it when you've nothing else to do?

And if that person should die an untimely death,
Without accepting Jesus with the very last breath,
You'll have it on your consciernce and the book of life too,
That you waited and stalled until you'd nothing else to do.

Don't take any chances and don't try to hide,
but ask the Holy Spirit to be your help and guide,
Introduce that one to Jesus who can save and heal too,
You'll be glad you didn't wait until there was nothing else to do.

IT'S IN THE VALLEYS I GROW

Sometimes life seems hard to bear,
Full of sorrow, trouble and woe
It's then I have to remember
That it's in the valleys I grow.

If I always stayed on the mountain top
And never experienced pain,
I would never appreciate God's love
And would be living in vain.

I have so much to learn
And my growth is very slow,
Sometimes I need the mountain tops,
But it's in the valleys I grow.

I do not always understand
Why things happen as they do,
But I am very sure of one thing.
My Lord will see me through.

My little valleys are nothing
When I picture Christ on the cross
He went through the valley of death;
His victory was Satan's loss.

Forgive me Lord, for complaining
When I'm feeling so very low.
Just give me a gentle reminder
That it's in the valleys I grow.

Continue to strengthen me, Lord
And use my life each day
To share your love with others
And help them find their way.

Thank you for valleys, Lord
For this one thing I know
The mountain tops are glorious
But it's in the valleys I grow!

Jesus,
Simply Jesus

He's all we need
And all we seek
To fulfill our purpose
And keep us meek

To know us intimately
Is His desire
To walk with us daily
Our deeds to inspire

Not just at Christmas
But every day
He wants to be first
In every way.

Coming Home

Today I walked through the pearly gates
Oh the joy that there was to see
Angels singing praising God
For in heaven I will eternally be

Prophets of old greeted me
On the streets of gold I now walk
Loved ones who long passed away
Now with me they do talk

And people that I met there on earth
Wanted to show me around Heaven to
That came to know of God's eternal Love
Because we shared with them a time or two

But the first thing I wanted to do
Was to meet Jesus face to face
To thank Him for His Love for me
That I can eternally be in this place

Everyone seemed to know
Of who it was I wanted to see
Cause for them they did the same
So before Jesus they brought me to be

As I feel down before Jesus
He raised me to my feet
Love was shining out from Him
That lighted each and every street

I cannot express the Love there be
That Jesus showed unto me
And the joy I have within my heart
For my savior now I finally see

Today I walked through the pearly gates
Oh the joy that there was for me
The love that showed in everyone's heart
That with God I will eternally be

TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE........

'Twas the night Jesus came
and all through the house,
not a person was praying,
not one in the house..

The Bible was left
on the shelf without care,
for no one thought
Jesus would come there..

The children were dressing
to crawl into bed,
not once ever kneeling
or bowing their head..

And Mom in the rocking chair
with babe on her lap,
was watching the Late Show
as I took a nap..

When out of the east
there rose such a clatter,
I sprang to my feet
to see what was the matter..

Away to the window
I flew like a flash,
tore open the shutters
and lifted the sash..

When what to my wondering
eyes should appear,
but Angels proclaiming
that Jesus was here..

The light of His face
made me cover my head...
was Jesus returning
just like He'd said..

 though I possessed
worldly wisdom and wealth,
I cried when I saw Him
in spite of myself..

In the Book of Life
which he held in his hand,
was written the name
of every saved man..

He spoke not a word
as he searched for my name,
when He said "it's not here"
My head hung in shame..

The people whose names
had been written with love,
He gathered to take
to his Father above..

With those who were ready
He rose without sound,
while all of the others
were left standing around...

I fell to my knees
but it was too late,
I'd waited too long
and thus sealed my fate.

I stood and I cried
as they rose out of sight,
Oh, if only I'd known
that this was the night....

In the words of this poem
the meaning is clear
the coming of Jesus
is now drawing near...

There's only one life
and when comes the last call,
We'll find out that the Bible
was true after all...

My Last Day

They stripped me of my clothes,
and proceeded to whip me endlessly.
Ripping the flesh from my body,
I thought I would bleed eternally.

They then spit upon my face,
taking turns they did not instead.
When they couldn't spit no more.
they placed a sack upon my head.

And with a sack upon my head,
they then punched me in the face.
Saying "Master who punched Thou?"
then another would take his place.

Then they made me carry a cross,
though my legs could barely stand.
Falling to the ground several times,
they made someone give me a hand.

Then upon a hill we did arrive,
they pounded nails into my hands.
Then they drove nails into my feet,
so that on the cross I could stand.

Standing the cross up into position,
they dropped it into a hole upright.
The sudden jar of the cross landing,
to the crowds was their delight.

With a crown of thorns upon my head,
it caused the blood to run down my face.
The blood was dripping off my chin,
landing upon my feet it found it's place.

Then they had a hillside auction
as they stripped me of my clothes.
Selling off each peace of garment,
they even sold my warm robe.

Naked I was upon this cross,
with the sun beating down on me.
The blood that came from my back,
ran down the cross for all to see.

The crowds cheered as there I hung,
for this is what they wanted to see.
All alone without a friend for me,
I wondered ,"How could this ever be?"

Though I knew I would conquer death,
real pain came from no friend being there.
For I was all by myself hanging there,
cause for me no one dared to care.

For I was rejected and abandoned,
even betrayed by an earthly friend.
My life was sold for 20 pieces of silver,
for that was the price for my life's end.

My heart was filled with sadness,
cause God turned His back on me.
For even my Father could not watch,
as I hung upon that cross for thee.

And in my final moments here,
all your sins were placed on me.
For in a matter of a split second,
everyone's sin fell down upon me.

For this was the price God demanded,
that I should die to set you free.
And that symbol of a cross,
would stand for freedom eternally.

Yes, upon my death I took your sins,
making you worthy to enter heaven.
For no man can come unto the Father,
unless through me they enter in.

The poem below comes from a Christian Leadership University student taking the Communion With God course who found God could and did heal the horrific experience of sexual abuse from her father. After Jesus had appeared in the scene, spoken to her, showed her what He was doing and she journaled about it, she felt impressed by the Holy Spirit to write the following poem:

I WAS THERE
By Lisa LaGrange 11/1/05

As you laid in your bed in the darkness of night
I was there.
As you dreamt childhood dreams in stillness and quiet
I was there.
As he came to your room and stood by your bed
I was there.
As your heart fiercely pounded with terror and dread
I was there.
As the weight of his body too heavy to bear
I was there.
Through the smell of his alcohol breath on your hair
I was there.
As you struggled but could not get out from beneath
I was there.
As the innocent child died a slow death
I was there.

I was there all the while; I was holding your hand;
I was knelt down beside you giving strength 'til the end.
I wiped all your tears and stroked your fine hair,
And after he left I cradled my Dear......
in My arms, rocking gently to sleep; I was there.

        I was there when he hurt you;
        I was there when he robbed you;
I was there when he took all you had.

But I went to the cross and I pled with My Father
and gave for you all that I had.
I was scared; I was naked, in pain and ashamed
as I hung on that cross all alone.
But to feel what you went through and heal all your pain
I was there from the cross to your home.

I will always be with you, never leave nor forsake you
for My love for you never shall wear.
So whenever you're lonely or scared or in need
take refuge to know: I was there.

Lisa's comments: "I sought the Lord for every line, as I am certainly not a poet, and I am very pleased with the results. Now as I read this poem daily I can't put it down until I have read it at least five times. I am finding it to be tremendously healing...in ways that I never would have thought. I want to share this poem with as many people as I can because I know the outrageous statistics of children who are sexually abused that are now adults trying to salvage their lives."
